Akshaya Tritiya 2018 – All about Importance and Celebrations in India
Akshaya Tritiya which is also known as Akti or Akha Teej is the holy festival of Hindus and Jains celebrated all over the India with great religious favor. The auspicious festival is celebrated on third lunar day (Shukla Paksha) bright month of Vaisakha.
The year 2018 will mark the Akshaya Tritiya on 18th April 2018 Wednesday that is Rohini Nakshatra which is considered as very auspicious day according to Vedic Hindu Calendar.
Lord Vishnu and Goddess Laxmi is worshipped on this day for good health, luck, wealth and prosperity.
In Sanskrit ‘ Akshaya means never diminishing . The day signifies and observes great religious activities in terms of food and clothes donations to poor and needy, performing poojas in temples and distributing mahaprasada.
The day is also celebrated as birth day of Lord Parasurama the sixth avatar of Lord Vishnu. It is also believe that Lord Ganesha with Veda Vyas started writing Mahabharata on this auspicious day.
As per ancient Hindu mythology if anyone prays to god with sincere devotion and dedication on this day , the sins committed in past and present are forgiven by god.
