  • Midwest Astrology: How the Heartland is Embracing the Celestial Arts

Astrology has been a widely popular topic for centuries, but it seems the celestial arts are gaining even more traction in the United States’ heartland. The Midwest has always been known for its strong sense of community and traditional values, but it seems as though the stars are aligning in favor of the mystical and metaphysical.

More and more people are turning to astrology for guidance and information about their lives. The practice of astrology involves interpreting the movements and relative positions of celestial bodies, such as the sun, moon, and planets, to provide insight into an individual’s personality, relationships, and future events.

While it might seem like astrology is reserved for the coasts and larger cities, the Midwest has become an unexpected hub for astrological enthusiasts. In recent years, astrology-themed businesses and events have been popping up throughout the region.

One such business is The Astrology Store in downtown Chicago, which offers astrological readings, classes, and workshops. Owner and astrologer Frank Don says he’s seen a significant increase in interest in astrology in the Midwest.

“I think people in the Midwest are looking for something more meaningful in their lives and astrology provides that,” Don says. “It’s a way to understand yourself and others on a deeper level.”

Don’s sentiments are echoed by astrologer and author Linda Joyce, who hails from Kansas City. Joyce has been practicing astrology for over 30 years and has seen a shift in attitudes towards the celestial arts in the Midwest.

“I’ve noticed more people are open to astrology and curious about what it can offer,” Joyce says. “It’s no longer seen as just a novelty or something to be dismissed.”

Even major cities in the Midwest are embracing astrology. In Minneapolis, the annual Twin Cities Psychic and Wellness Expo features numerous astrologers offering readings and workshops. In Columbus, Ohio, the annual Midwest Astrology Conference draws astrologers from around the country for a weekend of lectures and networking.

The Midwest’s embrace of astrology can also be seen in social media trends. The hashtag #astrology has over 42 million posts on Instagram, with many of them originating from the Midwest. Astrology-themed memes and accounts have also gained popularity on platforms like Twitter and TikTok.

So why is astrology gaining popularity in the Midwest? Some attribute it to the current political climate and the desire for self-discovery and personal growth. Others see it as a natural extension of the region’s love for community and spirituality.

Regardless of the reason, it’s clear that astrology is no longer just a niche interest in the Midwest. The celestial arts are becoming more mainstream and accepted, providing a new avenue for people to connect with themselves and others.
