I am Abhishek Soni, a Vedic astrologer in Nagpur, Maharashtra, and I have been reading charts for twenty five years. This is one person's practice, not a marketplace and not a rotating pool of consultants. When you send a birth date here, I am the one who reads it.

If you arrived looking for the old photo gallery page, there is no gallery on the current site. What people were usually after there is the thing behind it: is this a real practice, run by one person, and what is it like to bring a question to it. That is what the rest of this page answers.

What the practice is

Three things, and they are all the same work at different lengths.

A free kundli, computed properly and shown to you without an email wall. It is a real chart, from real ephemeris data, in both the North Indian and South Indian styles. You can check it against any other source you trust, and I would rather you did.

A written reading, which is the main work. You send birth details and a question, and you get back a document written from your chart. Not a template with your name at the top. The shorter version answers one question. The longer one goes through the whole chart, the areas of life, and the timing.

A sitting, which is an hour, live, on a booked slot. This is for people whose question does not fit in a document, or who want to ask it back and forth.

Underneath all of it there is a daily panchang and a learning section covering the planets, signs, nakshatras and houses, because a fair amount of what people write in asking for is just an explanation.

Languages

English, Hindi and Marathi. Nagpur is a Marathi city and I read and speak with people in the language they are comfortable in. Most of the writing on this site is in English and Hindi today, which is a gap in the site rather than a limit on the practice.

What people actually come with

Very few people arrive wanting to know about astrology. They arrive with a question that has been sitting on them for a while, often for years, and usually after somebody has already frightened them about it.

Marriage, and whether it will happen, and whether a particular match is sound. A career that has stalled for reasons nobody can name. Money that does not arrive despite the work. A child's future. Health in the family. And Sade Sati, because somebody told them it was running and did not explain what that meant.

Those are the conversations. The astrology is the instrument, not the subject.

What a reading here is, and what it is not

It is a description of what the chart indicates, the areas of life where the tradition points to friction, and the periods when a subject becomes live. It comes with the limits attached: what the chart says clearly, what it says weakly, and what it does not address at all.

It is not a prediction of events. I do not tell people what will happen, because that is not a claim this tradition can honestly make, and because the people who do make it are usually selling something afterwards.

I do not sell gemstones. I do not sell rituals to remove obstacles. I do not tell somebody that a marriage must be called off because of one indication in a chart. A great deal of harm in this field is done by exactly those three things, usually to people who are already frightened.

And I will say when the birth time is not good enough. A time that is wrong by two hours produces a different chart, and a reading built on it is a reading of somebody else's life. If you do not know your time, say so, and we will do the narrower reading that is honestly available.

The honest position on astrology itself

People ask whether I think it is true. The answer I can stand behind is this: it is a tradition with a long, careful internal logic, it describes tendencies and periods rather than events, and it is at its most useful when a person uses it to look at their own patterns rather than to be told what to do.

If you want certainty, no astrologer can give it to you, and the ones who say they can are the ones to avoid. If you want a considered reading of your chart from someone who will tell you where it is unclear, that is what this is.

Questions people ask

Will you actually look at my chart, or is the reading generated?

I read it. The chart is computed by software, as every astrologer's has been for thirty years, and the reading is written from my method and my judgement about your particular chart. You will see the chart alongside the reading, so you can check that the two describe the same thing.

Do I have to come to Nagpur?

No. Written readings go anywhere and the sitting is held live on a booked slot, so distance does not matter. If you are in Nagpur and would rather sit across a table, that is possible too, and for some conversations it is better.

What do you need from me to start?

Date of birth, time of birth as accurately as you can source it, and place of birth. Then the question you actually want answered, in your own words. The question matters more than people expect, because a chart read without one produces a general document, and a chart read against a specific question produces something you can use.
