Saturn in Revati nakshatra, the dates and what they mean for your rashi
Saturn entered Revati nakshatra on 17 May 2026 and, because it turns retrograde and comes back over the same ground, it will not be finished with Revati until late February 2028. It is in Revati as this is published, in the first of three passes.
If you came looking for Saturn in Revati in a birth chart rather than in transit, that is at the end.
The actual dates
Computed with the Lahiri ayanamsa, the one Indian panchang follows, and given in Indian standard time. Every one of these crossings falls in the middle of a day, so the clock time is given as well as the date.
- 17 May 2026, about 2:40 pm: Saturn enters Revati, the last nakshatra, in the final third of Pisces.
- 9 October 2026, about 8:50 pm: Saturn, retrograde, slips back out of Revati into Uttara Bhadrapada.
- 8 February 2027, about 7:50 am: Saturn returns to Revati.
- 3 June 2027, about 5:30 am: Saturn leaves Pisces and enters Aries.
- 20 October 2027, about 7:10 am: Saturn, retrograde again, falls back into Revati.
- 23 February 2028, about 7:25 pm: Saturn returns to Aries for good.
A word about how firm those are. Saturn is crawling at roughly a tenth of a degree a day at each of these crossings, so a small change in the reckoning moves the date by more than you would expect. The panchang traditions closest to Lahiri, including the KP reckoning, put the first ingress within a day of 17 May 2026. Raman's ayanamsa puts it on 3 May 2026, a fortnight earlier. If your panchang disagrees with the list above, check which ayanamsa it uses before assuming one of you is wrong.
So Revati gets Saturn in three passes across roughly twenty-one months. This is normal. Saturn spends about two and a half years in a sign and roughly a year in a nakshatra, and its retrograde loops mean it usually crosses the same boundary three times.
What the transit is, plainly
Saturn is the slowest of the visible planets and the tradition reads it as the planet of time, of consequence, and of what will not be hurried. Wherever Saturn goes, the classical material describes a slowing rather than a stopping, and a demand that the arrangements in that part of life be made honest.
Revati is the closing nakshatra of the wheel, ruled by Mercury, with Pushan as its deity, the one who looks after travellers and sees them to where they were going. It carries the sense of finishing, of the last stretch of a road.
Tradition therefore reads Saturn crossing the last nakshatra of the zodiac as a passage of endings that are not to be rushed: matters left half concluded coming back to be concluded properly, and a slower, plainer register in whatever part of the chart it falls. That is the whole of the honest description. Anything more specific than that has to come from a chart.
Which house Saturn is crossing, by rashi
Revati sits in Pisces, so this is the house Pisces occupies counted from your Moon sign. This is the part of the general reading that is actually determinate, and it is the part most articles skip.
- Aries: 12th house
- Taurus: 11th
- Gemini: 10th
- Cancer: 9th
- Leo: 8th
- Virgo: 7th
- Libra: 6th
- Scorpio: 5th
- Sagittarius: 4th
- Capricorn: 3rd
- Aquarius: 2nd
- Pisces: 1st
That tells you which department of life this transit is asking about. It does not tell you what happens there, because a transit acts on a chart and every chart is different. The same Saturn crossing the 7th from the Moon lands very differently on two people whose 7th houses are in different condition.
If someone has told you Sade Sati is running
With Saturn in Pisces, Sade Sati is running for three Moon signs: Pisces, where Saturn is over the Moon itself; Aquarius, where it is in the 2nd; and Aries, where it is in the 12th. If your rashi is none of those three, Sade Sati is not running for you, whatever a WhatsApp forward said.
And if it is one of those three, the useful thing to know is that Sade Sati is not a punishment. It is a long, slow passage that tradition associates with weight, with responsibility landing, and with the removal of arrangements that were not holding. People get through it. Much of the harm attached to Sade Sati is done by the telling of it rather than by the transit.
Saturn in Revati in a birth chart
If Saturn sits between 16 degrees 40 minutes and 30 degrees of Pisces in your kundli, this is a natal placement rather than a transit, and it reads differently.
Tradition describes Saturn here as a slow, serious, unusually patient signature laid over a soft and imaginative nakshatra. The classical picture is of a person who takes duty toward others seriously, who is drawn to work that involves service or care, and who arrives at things later and more thoroughly than the people around them. Its difficulty is the pairing of Saturn's heaviness with Revati's receptivity: carrying more than is yours, and calling it responsibility.
As always, that is a grain and not a forecast, and the house Saturn occupies matters at least as much as the nakshatra. What the placement genuinely means for a particular life comes out of the whole chart, which is what a reading is for.
What this transit does not mean
It does not mean a fixed event on a fixed date. Transits mark periods when a subject is live, not appointments.
It does not mean the same thing for everyone born under a rashi. A twelfth of the world is not having the same year.
And it does not require anything to be bought. If a transit reading arrives with a stone, a ritual and a price attached before anyone has looked at your chart, that is a sales process wearing astrology's clothes.
You may also want famous people born in Mula and Revati nakshatra, and the 7th lord in Revati nakshatra if your question is about marriage.
Questions people ask
When exactly is Saturn in Revati nakshatra?
By the Lahiri reckoning, in Indian standard time: from the afternoon of 17 May 2026 to the evening of 9 October 2026, from the morning of 8 February 2027 to the early hours of 3 June 2027, and from the morning of 20 October 2027 to the evening of 23 February 2028. The gaps are Saturn's retrograde loops taking it back over ground it has already covered. After February 2028 it moves into Aries and does not return.
Which rashi is most affected by Saturn in Revati?
The three rashis carrying Sade Sati, which are Pisces, Aquarius and Aries, are the ones this transit stays closest to, because Saturn is sitting on or beside the Moon for them. For everyone else it depends on which house Pisces occupies from your Moon sign, and on the condition of that house in your own chart. Which house is touched is determinate. What it does there is not, and no article can tell you.
Is Saturn in Revati bad?
No. Saturn slows a matter down and asks that it be dealt with properly, and in the last nakshatra of the wheel that often concerns something being brought to a close. That is demanding rather than bad, and the tradition consistently treats Saturn as the planet that gives what was actually earned.
