Ketu in Revati means the descending lunar node falls in the last nakshatra of the zodiac, between 346 degrees 40 minutes and 360 degrees, entirely inside Pisces, in a stretch of sky governed by Mercury. Tradition reads this as a placement concerned with finishing rather than starting: the person is described as carrying something already complete, and as being asked to hand it on rather than hold it.

That is what the classical texts indicate. What it means in one particular life depends on which house Revati falls in for that chart, what else sits with Ketu, and which period is running. A nakshatra placement on its own is one sentence in a long document, not the document.

Where Revati sits

Revati is the twenty-seventh and final nakshatra. It occupies the last third of Pisces, so a person with Ketu here has Ketu in Pisces as well, and every general reading of Ketu in Pisces applies before the nakshatra detail does.

Mercury governs this stretch. Its presiding deity is Pushan, described in the older hymns as the one who keeps the roads safe and brings travellers and cattle home. Its symbol is a fish, and in some lineages a drum. Taken together the tradition gives Revati a character of safe passage, arrival, and looking after what belongs to somebody else. It is the nakshatra where the wheel closes.

What Ketu does to a nakshatra

Ketu is not a body. It is the southern point where the Moon's path crosses the Sun's, the opposite point to Rahu, and it moves backwards through the zodiac all the time. It completes a circle in about eighteen years and seven months, which works out to roughly eight months in each nakshatra.

The classical description of Ketu is subtraction. Where Rahu is said to magnify and to want, Ketu is said to thin out and to release. It does not usually take a subject away. Ketu in Revati does not decide your profession. It is a common placement. Roughly one person in twenty-seven has it, and most of them work ordinary jobs and are content.

It does not mean you are unworldly by nature. Plenty of charts carry this placement alongside a strong tenth house and a busy, practical life. The detachment shows up as indifference to being seen, not as an inability to earn.

It does not predict loneliness. That claim gets repeated because it frightens people into a consultation. What tradition actually indicates is a preference for fewer and deeper attachments, which is a different thing and often a comfortable one.
