Simha rashi, Rahu and career, without the promises

Rahu has been in Kumbha, Aquarius, since May 2025. That is the 7th sign from Simha, which also means Ketu has been sitting on Simha itself for the same sixteen months. The pair holds until the first week of December 2026, when Rahu moves on to Makara, Capricorn, the 6th from Simha, and Ketu to Karka, the 12th. That second arrangement runs through 2027.

For a career question the honest reading is that the nodes have not been sitting on a work house at all, and are about to. The 7th is partnership, not employment, and Ketu on your own moon sign changes your appetite rather than your opportunities. The one house in this sequence that touches working life directly is the 6th, service and employment, and Rahu only reaches it at the end of 2026. That is a duller answer than the pages promising opportunities unlocked by Rahu, and it is the one I would give you across a table.

What Rahu is, in one paragraph

Rahu is not a planet. It is one of the two points where the Moon's path crosses the Sun's path, which is why eclipses happen near it. It has no light and no sign of its own, so it takes its character from the sign and house it occupies. That is the first reason blanket predictions about it are worth little: the same Rahu in the same sign reads differently in two charts.

The most useful description I have for it, after twenty five years of explaining it across a table, is appetite without a natural stopping point. Wherever it touches, people reach further and sometimes get somewhere they had no business getting. The same energy is where people overreach and get taken in by something impressive. Both are Rahu. Ketu is the opposite motion: where Ketu sits, the appetite is already spent.

Ketu on Simha, which is the part worth knowing now

Of the two, this is the one people actually report feeling, and almost nothing written about Simha and Rahu mentions it.

Tradition connects Ketu on the moon with detachment: a flatness that is not quite unhappiness, a loss of interest in something you were genuinely invested in, and a reduced appetite for being seen. For a Simha moon, whose lord is the Sun and whose natural currency is recognition, that reads as an odd stretch. People describe wanting to walk away from a job that is objectively fine.

The value of knowing it is not really the astrology. It is that a decision taken out of that flatness looks different a year later. If you are thinking about resigning, ask honestly whether the job got worse or whether your interest went quiet. Only one of those is solved by leaving.

Saturn is separately in Meena, the 8th from Simha, until June 2027. The stamina and health side of the same period is set out in ashtama shani for Simha rashi.

Rahu in the 7th, until December 2026

The 7th is partnership in every sense: marriage, business partners, clients, the person across the table. Tradition reads Rahu there as a stretch when partnerships become unusually charged. New ones arrive quickly and are hard to read clearly, and existing ones get tested on their terms rather than their affection.

In working life it tends to show up in two ways worth naming.

The impressive counterparty. A client, a co-founder, an investor or an employer who looks unusually good on paper. Tradition connects Rahu with the fast route looking unusually reasonable, and this is the house where that arrives wearing a face. Slow the decision down and have someone unimpressed look at it with you.

Terms rather than roles. This transit raises the question of who you are tied to more often than the question of what job you do. Partnership agreements, revenue shares, a single client who has quietly become most of your income. The old caution attached to Rahu in the 7th is dull and sensible whether or not you believe the astrology: put it in writing while everyone is still pleased with each other.

On the changeover date, almanacs differ by about ten days depending on whether they count the mean node or the true one, so take it from the panchang you normally follow and stay with that one.

From December 2026, Rahu in the 6th and Ketu in the 12th

This is the shift genuinely worth marking in a calendar, because the 6th is the only house in this whole sequence that is about employment.

The 6th governs service, daily work, competition, debt and health. Tradition treats Rahu there as one of its more workable placements: appetite pointed at competition and at getting through obstacles rather than at status. It is usually described as a stretch when people take on more than is reasonable and manage it, and when a rival or a dispute gets faced instead of avoided. It is also a debt house, so borrowing gets easier and more tempting at once.

Ketu moves to Karka, the 12th from Simha, in the same week, and the 12th is expense, foreign places, withdrawal and rest. As a pair the axis points towards work done away from the centre of attention rather than towards public advancement.

Two cautions. The transit is shared by everybody with a Simha moon sign, and the traditional reading of the 6th is genuinely mixed: favourable for effort, unfavourable for health and borrowing.

If it is a Rahu period you are asking about

Many people searching for Simha rashi and Rahu are not asking about an eighteen month transit at all. They are asking because someone told them a Rahu mahadasha is running or about to start, which is a much larger thing: eighteen years in your own chart, which only you are in.

What tradition associates with it, without the drama, is a long question about who you are. Rahu periods are the ones in which people try on roles, and unconventional routes tend to work better than conventional ones. They are also the periods of the premature move, because Rahu supplies the nerve and not the preparation, so the useful discipline is a delay between the decision and the action. Whether any of it applies to you depends on when the period runs and where Rahu sits in your chart, not on your rashi.

What actually drives career for Simha

Three things, in order.

The 10th house and its lord. The 10th sign from Simha is Vrishabha, ruled by Shukra, so for a Simha moon sign Venus carries the career house around the chart. Where Venus sits, what condition it is in, and which planets touch it says more about your working life than any node's transit. Tradition connects the combination with work involving value, comfort, appearance, finance, food, arts or patient craft, though that is a leaning and not an occupation list.

The Sun, which rules Simha. The lord of your rashi stands for standing, authority and being seen. Its position, and the periods when it is strong, matter more to career than a node passing overhead.

The running mahadasha. This is the frame every transit lands inside. A Rahu transit crossing a chart in a quiet stretch barely registers. The same transit during a period ruled by a planet it touches lands hard. That is the commonest reason two people with the same rashi have opposite years, and the reason a general article cannot do the job a chart can. A focused reading works the timing out against your own chart. Career transits in 2026 and 2027, read from your rising sign is the wider view if you know your birth time.

Questions people ask

Is a Rahu transit good or bad for Simha rashi's career? Neither, and for now it is largely beside the point. Until December 2026 Rahu is in the 7th from Simha, which touches partners and clients rather than employment, while Ketu on your moon sign reads as detachment rather than opportunity. From December 2026 Rahu reaches the 6th, the house of service and employment, and that is the transit with a real bearing on work.

Is this the same as a Rahu mahadasha? No, and confusing the two causes a lot of unnecessary worry. A transit is Rahu's present position in the sky, shared by everyone alive, and it lasts about eighteen months in a sign. A Rahu mahadasha runs eighteen years in your own chart and belongs only to you. The mahadasha is by far the larger factor.

Which house should I watch for a job change? The 10th, its lord, and the 6th, which governs employment and service. For Simha that puts Venus at the centre of the picture. A change of role usually shows as several factors agreeing rather than as one transit, and a chart shows pressure and opening rather than a decision. The decision stays yours.
