Can a kundli show when a relationship will end

No. A kundli does not give you the date a relationship ends, and anyone who hands you one is guessing with a confident face. What a chart does show, and shows reasonably well, is when a partnership comes under sustained pressure, roughly how long that stretch lasts, and which part of the relationship the pressure is on. Those are different things, and the difference matters enormously to the person asking.

I get this question often enough that it deserves a straight answer rather than a frightening one. Most people who ask it are not curious. They are already in the middle of something difficult and they want to know whether it is going to hold.

What tradition actually looks at

The 7th house is the house of union, and it covers marriage, live-in partnership and business partnership alike. Its lord, and any planet sitting in it, describes the shape of the partnership. That is the starting point and it is not the whole reading.

The house that classical texts read for the continuation of a marriage is the 2nd, because the 2nd is the 8th counted from the 7th, and the 8th of anything is read for how it comes apart. So a reading of longevity in a partnership looks at the 2nd house and its lord as much as at the 7th.

Then there are the houses of difficulty: the 6th, which covers disputes and things that must be fought; the 8th, which covers what has to be dismantled; and the 12th, which covers loss, separation and what is spent. When the 7th house or its lord is tied to these by placement or ownership, tradition reads it as a partnership carrying friction in its structure. That is a description of the terrain, not a sentence.

Venus is the natural significator of relationship and of the wife in classical texts, and Jupiter of the husband in a woman's chart. A Venus that is weakened, or sitting with Rahu, or closely with the Sun, is read as a relationship life that runs hot and unstable. Saturn on the 7th house is read as delay, distance and duty rather than as an ending, though people usually experience it as coldness. Rahu and Ketu across the 1st and 7th houses are the classic indication of a partnership where the two people keep pulling in different directions.

How timing is actually judged

Two layers, and the second only works on top of the first.

The first is the mahadasha, the long period running in the chart, and the sub period inside it. When the period belongs to a planet connected to the 7th house and also to the 6th, 8th or 12th, that is the stretch in which partnership matters come to a head. These periods run for years, not for days.

The second layer is transit. Saturn crossing the 7th house, or crossing the natal position of the 7th lord, is the usual trigger. Saturn moves slowly and turns retrograde once a year, so it typically works on a house across two or three passes over eighteen months, which is why these matters rarely resolve at one go. Jupiter crossing the 7th is read the other way, as support and often as the period of a marriage rather than its end.

The honest statement of what that machinery produces is: a window, usually several months to a couple of years wide, in which the subject is live. Not a date. If I tell you the second half of a certain year is where the pressure sits in your chart, that is the resolution the method actually has. Narrower than that is invention.

What a chart genuinely cannot do

It cannot tell you whether the relationship should end. That is not modesty. There is nothing in a chart that encodes what you owe someone, what you can forgive, or what you want the next twenty years to look like.

It cannot read one person. A partnership involves two charts and two running periods, and a reading of one chart alone is half the picture. When people bring me only their own chart and ask about a marriage, I say so.

It cannot survive a wrong birth time. The 7th house is determined by the ascendant, and the ascendant moves through a whole sign in roughly two hours. A birth time out by an hour can move the entire 7th house and give a different answer with the same confidence. If your birth time is a family estimate, treat any 7th house reading as provisional.

And it cannot be used as permission. I have watched people go looking for a chart that tells them to leave so they do not have to decide. A chart will not carry that for you.

What is actually useful to ask instead

Better questions, and ones a chart can answer: which stretch of the next few years carries the most pressure on partnership, so that you know not to force a decision in the middle of it. Whether the strain in the chart sits on money, on family, on health or on the relationship itself, because these get confused constantly and a marriage under money pressure needs a different response from one under family pressure. And whether there is a period afterwards where things ease, which there almost always is.
