Almost every list of famous personalities born under Revati nakshatra that you will find online is guesswork. Not because the writers are dishonest, but because a nakshatra needs a birth time, and public figures very rarely have a recorded one. A date of birth alone cannot settle it. The Moon crosses a nakshatra in roughly a day, so a chart cast for the morning and the same chart cast for the evening can hand you two different answers.

Why the lists cannot be trusted

There are twenty seven nakshatras and the Moon passes through all of them in about twenty seven and a half days. That works out to a little over a day each. For a nakshatra to be known, three things have to be known: the date, the place, and the clock time of birth.

Birth times appear on astrology sites as though they were facts, but trace one back and it usually comes from another astrology site, which took it from a third. Revati is the twenty seventh and last nakshatra. It sits at the very end of Pisces, from twenty degrees onward, and Mercury governs it. Its symbol is a drum, or in some readings a pair of fish, and its presiding deity is Pushan, the one who keeps travellers safe on the road and brings the herd home.

Almost everything the older texts say about Revati follows from that last idea. It is the last stop. It is the point at which the whole circle finishes and begins again. So the qualities attached to it are the qualities of an ending handled well: kindness, patience with people who are lost, an instinct for looking after animals and children, a mind that finishes things rather than starting them, and a tendency to give more than is asked.

Because Mercury governs it, that gentleness usually comes with a working mind: speech that carries, a feel for language, teaching, translating, journeys of every kind. Because it falls in Pisces, it comes with a soft edge as well. People with a strong Revati in the chart are often the ones others lean on, and are often slow to say that the leaning has become heavy.

What it does not decide

One person in twenty seven is born under Revati. In India alone that is somewhere near a million births a year. Whatever Revati is, it is not doing anything dramatic on its own, and it is certainly not the reason anybody became famous.

In a reading, a nakshatra is one line. What matters far more is the rising sign, which house the Moon sits in, where the chart's difficult planets fall, and which period is running in a person's life right now. A nakshatra colours the Moon. It does not run a life. If somebody tells you your nakshatra explains your career, they have not looked at your chart.

This is worth saying plainly because it cuts both ways. Revati is written up online as the gentle, fortunate, spiritual one, and people born under it sometimes carry an expectation of ease that their own chart never promised. The happier reading is not more true than the frightening one. Both are one line read as though it were the whole page.

How to find your own nakshatra

You need three things: the date, the clock time as close as you can get it, and the town. A birth certificate, a hospital record or a family diary is worth far more than a guess, and an hour either way genuinely changes the answer.

Three things I have found worth saying to people with a strong Revati, none of which are predictions.

The first is that the giving is real and so is the cost. Revati people tend to be the ones who stay behind to help. Nothing in the chart says you have to volunteer for every ending in your family.

The second is that finishing is your strength, not starting. If work keeps stalling at the beginning, it may not be a fault in you. It may be that you are in the wrong seat.

The third is about travel and displacement. Revati has an old association with journeys and with people who live away from where they were born. That shows up often enough in real charts to be worth naming, and it is usually described as restlessness when it is actually a fit.
